WHEN ARE YOU OPEN? WHEN CAN I CALL?
Our catering sales office is open via phone from 9am to 3pm Monday through Friday: 610-214-3588. f we don’t pick up the phone, please send us a message by clicking below or an email at info@korenskitchen.com anytime!
WHAT DAYS DO YOU CATER? DO YOU CATER ON THE WEEKENDS?
We cater 24/7! So that means Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but on weekends we require a $500 minimum.
Orders are not considered booked until the non-refundable ($500.00) deposit is received. Bookings are based on availability on a first-come-first-pay basis.
Once booked and confirmed, the minimum catering guest count is due 10 business days prior to the event – any additions after this may incur an additional per person fee.
Final, non-refundable payment of the remaining balance is due 5 business days prior to the event.
WHAT IF I NEED A LAST-MINUTE CATERING LUNCH ON THE SAME DAY?
Sometimes we can accommodate same-day orders, but it really just depends on what other orders we already have in the hopper and what staff we have available. Also, we may need to add a rush fee for last-minute orders. Call us ASAP to check and we'll see what we can do for you! 610-214-3588
ARE THERE CATERING ORDER MINIMUMS?
Breakfast – 12 people
Cold Buffets – 8 people
Hot Buffets – 12 people
DO I NEED TO SUPPLY PAPER PRODUCTS FOR CATERING?
You supply the hungry guests and we take care of the rest! All orders come with a tablecloth, paper products, serving utensils and appropriate condiments. In addition, your catering delivery person will also take care of setting your catered buffet table.
DO YOU REQUIRE A CATERING DEPOSIT? HOW AND WHEN DO I PAY? WHAT ARE YOUR TERMS?
For corporations, we don’t require a catering deposit. After all the bellies are full, you can pay online with a credit card (Amex, Visa, MasterCard) through the links in the catering invoice that was emailed to you. If you prefer, we can also take your credit card information over the phone, you can mail us a business check, or we can also accept ACH payment. Our terms are net 30.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANCEL (OR REDUCE) MY CATERING ORDER AT THE LAST MINUTE?
Due to the extensive amount of planning that goes into each catering order, all cancellations or reductions must be made by 4:30pm of the previous business day to receive a full refund for cold catered food.
Hot catered food requires 48 hours notice.
If it is past the cut-off line and you don’t want to take the food, we will be happy to deliver your catering order to the charity of your choice within a 5 mile delivery radius.
HOW DO I CHANGE MY CATERING ORDER ONCE IT IS PLACED?
Please email your catering change as soon as you find out and we’ll send out an updated catering invoice within 24 hours. If it is an increase for a same-day catered event, we will do our best to accommodate.
WHAT IF WE HAVE SOMEONE IN OUR GROUP WITH A SPECIAL DIET OR REQUEST?
Chef Koren is committed to using higher quality avocado oil instead of the cheap, unhealthy stuff, sourcing the freshest, organic and local ingredients and creating unique and flavorful dishes for all kinds of eaters—so we have plenty of options for everyone! Just look for items marked "gluten-free," "vegetarian" and "vegan" across all our menus.
She can also create custom menus tailored to client's specific needs and preferences—for any budget or tastes, including special diets such as kosher, keto, low-carb, no-sugar-added, nitrate-free, dairy-free, allergen-free and more.
When you order special requests as part of a larger catering order, you can rest easy knowing that they will be prepared and handled separately, to avoid allergen cross-contamination, and arrive in a separate, clearly labeled bag (so they do not get taken by someone else).
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR VEGETARIANS OR VEGANS?
We have lots of interesting, clearly marked vegetarian and vegan catering options that will satisfy even the most hard-core herbivores (not just the same old vegetable lasagna and marinated veggies).
OUR TEAM/MANAGEMENT GETS BORED WITH THE SAME FOOD OVER AND OVER, BUT I DON’T WANT TO KEEP HAVING TO SWITCH TO NEW CATERING COMPANIES. HELP, PLEASE!
Call and ask for Chef Koren, Owner/Master Executive Chef for even more creative catering suggestions!
HOW “GREEN” IS YOUR CATERING?
We try to do as many “green” things as possible (and always have). For example:
-We source organic or local produce, meat, seafood and dairy products whenever possible.
-We only market and deliver our catering services in a tight 15 mile radius to reduce gasoline consumption.
-We invoice electronically to save paper.
-We use recyclable trays and containers and bags and reuse items whenever possible.
COULD I HAVE SOME CURRENT REFERENCES?
Give us a call and we would be thrilled to supply you with three catering references from events we have catered within the past few weeks.
DO YOU COME BACK TO CLEAN UP?
If your catered event includes coffee urns or chafing dishes, we will come back to pick them up. If not, we use disposable trays that you can throw out. But they are quite chic (and even microwavable), so we recommend you take them home instead and re-use them!
IF YOU COME BACK TO CLEAN UP CATERING, WHEN DO YOU DO IT?
We’ll always call you first before arriving, however, typically for breakfast catering deliveries, we’ll pick up at lunch time, and for lunch time catering deliveries we’ll pick up between 2-4pm.
WILL YOUR CATERING CHEFS STAY AND SERVE MY GUESTS?
All cold catered buffets are “drop and go.” We will typically do the same for hot catering buffets, catered breakfasts and tapas, however for hot catering orders over 100, we leave at least one staff member on-site to replenish and keep things tidy.
ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL CATERING FEES?
On your invoice you will see PA sales tax added, as well as a delivery and set up charge. Generally it’s 10 to 15%, however for some specialty catering menus, evenings and weekends, it can be up to 20%.
SHOULD I TIP THE CATERING DELIVERY PERSON?
We are proud to pay our employees well! Your catering delivery person should never expect to receive gratuity, however, if you feel they’ve done an excellent job, feel free to let them know.
WHO GETS THE CATERING DELIVERY CHARGE?
The delivery charge is used to cover: wages employees delivering the food, the delivery truck (maintenance, fuel, insurance, etc.)
WHERE DO YOU DELIVER CATERING ?
Unlike most caterers, we have a tighter delivery radius. Caterers who deliver to far-away-places are more prone to lateness because of traffic issues (and they can’t quickly help you with last minute requests and changes). We are happy to deliver outside of the area within reason, but there may be a $1000 purchase catering minimum on each catering delivery.
HOW WILL I KNOW THERE WILL BE ENOUGH FOOD?
We hate running out of food even more than you do (it’s really bad for business). Over the last 15 years, Chef Koren has catered over 20,000 corporate catering breakfasts, luncheon catering and private catering parties with as many as 600 people. During this time she has mastered the art of measuring and testing recipes to know exactly what works for different sized groups—and meticulously trains her staff.
WHAT DOES YOUR CATERING TASTE LIKE? WHAT IS YOUR SAMPLING POLICY?
We are happy to meet with you to showcase any of our menu items on Mondays and Fridays. Please give at least one week’s notice.
HOW MANY CATERING CHEFS WILL CATER AND SET-UP MY CATERED EVENT?
At least one delivery specialist will cater for every 60 guests typically.
HOW MANY CATERING SERVING LINES WILL I NEED IF I DON’T WANT A LONG LINE OF IMPATIENT, HUNGRY PEOPLE?
We recommend having one serving line for every 40 people (you may want to consider this space requirement in your catering event planning).
WHEN IS THE LATEST I CAN CALL AND ORDER CATERING FOOD FOR THE NEXT DAY WITHOUT AN EXTRA CHARGE?
Call us anytime and we'll see what we can do for you!
HOW MUCH LIABILITY INSURANCE DO YOU HAVE?
We have a $2 million catering liability insurance policy. If you need a copy, let us know and we’re happy to email it to you.
WHERE IS YOUR CATERING KITCHEN LOCATED?
